Description
The XeSparQ module (several patents pending) is a socket containing the igniter for HID Xenon D2 (D2S or D2R) in a housing 100% identical to a D1 bulb socket footprint. Even its weight is within two grams the same.
Now it is possible to use any D2 bulb on the market in a D1 system. This includes any special D2 bulb, which has never been designed for a D1 system, such as UV bulbs for R&D applications and the super small MR-16 HID bulb.
The XeSparQ is a cost effective way for using D2 bulbs with no disadvantage at all. On the contrary, this means much less EMI/RFI since there is no high voltage cable between the igniter and the bulb.

The conversion is reversible, so the XeSparQ socket can be used repeatedly. To convert a D2 to our XeSparQ D1 bulb, simply insert the D2 into the XeSparQ socket, press down, turn to the left until it locks - done! See picture above.
The integration of the igniter into the bulb base saves the connector and cable and offers a more compact ballast design, see our XeStrike ballasts. The XeSparQ module has standard 4 pin MQS connector mounted on the side of the module identical to the D1S igniter design.
Because of the deletion of the high voltage cable, connector, and high voltage parts in the ballast with better control of the EMI, the XeSparQ D1 system offers a reduction of the system cost. Additionally, practically no limitation to the distance between the ballast and the XeSparQ D1 system. See specifications.
As for our D1 HID Xenon lighting systems in Aerospace or Industry, the same technical standards apply for the XeSparQ D2 - D1 lighting systems. Actually, all of our line of XeStrike ballasts and DC ballast can be used, in fact is recommended.
